#1 Crude/Vacuum Distillation Unit

The #1 Crude/Vacuum Distillation Unit (#1 CDU/VDU), Unit 11, was constructed as a combined unit in 1958 with an initial 20,000 BPSD capacity. The capacity was expanded to 40,000 BPSD in the 1964/5 revamp with the addition of a preflash tower system and additional heater capacity. In 1996 the #1 Crude preheat train, desalter and #1 Vacuum tower were revamped to increase heavy crude processing capabilities. Current throughputs of 42,000 BPSD #1 CDU and 16,500 BPSD for #1 VDU are achieved. The unit processes predominantly sour heavy crudes.
