Alkylation Unit
 The Alkylation unit (Alky), Unit 16, was added to the processing facilities in 1965. The unit is rated at 3500 BPSD of Alkylate production during the summer months and is limited by the refrigeration capacity. In colder months rates up to 3,800 BPSD of Alkylate production are possible. The unit is a conventional Stratco design, sulfuric acid type, with dual contactors and acid settlers. The unit processes the olefins feed, predominantly butylenes, generated from the two FCCU processes.
The majority of the major equipment dates from the original construction. The Depropanizer overheads receiver and the acid degassing drum were replaced in 1997. A number of smaller pots and some exchangers have been replaced over the years as might be expected in this arduous service.
