Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) & Gas Recovery Plant (GRP)
Upgrade of the FCCU to current riser technology is prevented by the configuration of the reactor/regenerator and the u-tube design and associated catalyst flow. The reactor was significantly modified in 1993 and currently utilizes single stage cyclones. A CO Boiler was added to the unit in 1973. An automatic catalyst addition system was installed in 2001 for overall yield improvements to the unit. A new stabilizer and Minalk treating unit were installed in the unit in 1994. The main air blower is a steam turbine driven Demag compressor. The unit has four (4) gas engine driven reciprocating wet gas compressors.
