The Propane-Propylene Splitter (PPS), Unit 18, system was installed in 1970.  The unit consist of Stripper  tower and a Rectifier tower, with rated capacity of 1500 BPSD.  The stripper tower is a 75-tray 5’ diameter by 140’ tall column reboiled with steam.  The Rectifier tower has 75 trays, 5’ diameter and 133’ tall. No major modifications have been done to this system since its installation.  

The unit receives Depropanizer overheads as feed from the two FCC units and separates the components to produce a refinery grade propylene and propane product.
