The Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU), Unit 32, was constructed in 1983 to handle the acid gas treatment that was previously handled at an adjacent Shell refinery.

The SRU is rated at 43 TPD of liquid sulfur production.  The process is a conventional 3 stage Claus and with a final tail gas incinerator.  Liquid sulfur products are exported by truck.  The thermal reactor section was replaced in 1993 and the incinerator has a relatively new stack section.  This unit is partially skid mounted.
