17,000 B/D Crude Distillation Unit
Crude Distillation Unit (CDU)
 The CDU was originally designed and constructed in 1963-64 by Lummus. The unit was commissioned in January 1965 with a rated capacity of 9,500 b/d. In 1970, an expansion project was implemented to increase the capacity of the unit to approximately 17,000 b/d. This expansion was accomplished by adding a second crude processing system including a second crude heater, tower, pre-heat exchangers, pumps and accumulator vessels. This configuration offered the refinery management a great deal of flexibility in their operations and allowed processing of numerous types of crude.
